It's pretty easy. Or you could use this to say something, I don't bite unless asked to.

You Can Have It All - Yo La Tengo

And if you want my heart,
take it baby,
you can have it all.

Because how can I not reblog Yo La Tengo?

Snickr wrote “nicklas, what’s the most beautiful love song? I bet I’d like yours.” Alexis then clarified it a bit in an email:

I love that idea; that there could be one song that be everything that love was. Goodness knows, a lot of people try to capture the feeling of love in music. It seems like no one sings of anything else!  But can you imagine a song that actually could? It would have to be a long song, and it would make you happy and so, so sad. Do you know of a song like that?

So up to the challenge I rummaged through both brain and the music catalogue.

Of course I ran into the big problem right away. Sad love songs is only part of the whole deal which don’t really make them suitable for this — the first that I came up with was one of those: The Band - Makes No Difference. Wonderful song, but oh so sad. Only sad. So that one was right out when I thought real hard about it. There should be hope in there too.

There is one song in Swedish Hela Mitt Liv by Ossler — since the Swedish language is kind of not spoken by far too many, I didn’t pick that one either. Live Ossler introduced it as “Here’s a positive song! No, it probably pretty horrible too in a way.” So that one might had worked. Thought a bit about Kristofer Åström’s Fallen — but I think that one deserves to be heard live, it grows a ton there.

No one of the choices are perfect of course, there is an unaprochableness in finding the perfect one especially as art is pretty damn close to life in that perfection never exists and if it does it’s very very boring.

But Yo La Tengo’s Did I Tell You is pretty damn close to perfect while still being able to contain the wonders of imperfection. It is bitter-sweet, filled with both hope and sadness intertwined to a mess as well as a certainty that very few other feelings can give.

Yo La Tengo and Autumn Sweater. Because autumn sweaters are awesome and comfy and you just want to hug people who wear them and hope at least some of the warmth transposes.

Women in knitwear is one of the things that make autumns great.

Yo La Tengo – Blue Line Swinger

For some reason I can’t figure out, I don’t own any Yo La Tengo on vinyl. Which meant I had to go back to the digital way of music. Kind of a Sunday failure — but you know, not a Sunday failure — but what can you do when he mind screams for some good fuzzy pop music? Right. You go where it points.

First I though about sharing the (Thin) Blue Line Swinger-version but that one’s so short. Very very short. Three minutes is hardly enough time for the build-up, this two minuter pop song needs to be 8 minutes plus.

I guess I have to take responsibility for what I write in this blog, hope I don't make myself look like an ass too often.
