Ted Leo & The Pharmacists - “Bottled In Cork” (OFFICIAL VIDEO) (by matadorrecs)
Down to a 1000 followers! Yeah! There are things that make me nervous, and some of them contradict one another. Silent readers — dead silent — who’re only noticeable when they start to read you are one of them.
I don’t do the follow for follow bullshit, but I wonder why people start to follow and then never likes anything, never a reply, a reblog, anything. I’m perplexed and weary about that. Even more than the “what have I done now?!” that occurs at times.
Anyway! Let’s celebrate the lower number and more alive people ratio with Ted Leo. I love this song by the way.
I missed the ten-year anniversary of The Tyranny of Distance by eight days or so. I even had the entire post planned an everything. Should have created a draft, but it is what it is. Which is a damn good album.
This could have been any Ted Leo song, there’s something about them that brings me into the happy headspace. I think it’s the guitars, or just the creative centre of Ted Leo himself. Either way, happy music for me.
And happy music is needed. Nothing has happened really, today has been quite good all in all, but “nothing happened” is also part of the problem. When nothing happens, nothing happens. Obviously. Good or bad would both be preferable to this.
The best song on the new Ted Leo album! Video written and directed by Tom Scharpling! Paul F Tompkins! John Hodgman! Julie Klausner! AP Mike! DJ Terre T! My friend Christine!! That guy from Titus Andronicus! Musical theater! Hilarity! Best video of 2010!
If you are very eagle-eyed, you can spot me as well, lurking, there — no, not — yes. There. At the corner of a frame. If you are not eagle-eyed, or even if you are but in addition to being eagle-eyed you prefer to use your imagination, do as I say now. See that shot of Christine, the lady in the green Sin Eaters shirt? See that shot of acclaimed playwright Jason Grote, the gentleman in the leather jacket? Now imagine someone is sitting between them. Someone is. I shan’t tell you who. Okay, it’s me.
This was a really fun day. I applied eyeliner on the subway and lost an earring while walking to the club; it helped me get into character, as did this. On set we drank Parklifes (Parklives?) until we felt like good actors. Ted Leo played a few tunes for us in between shots. Everyone was super nice! And Christine took some behind-the-scenes photos. So basically everything about this is the best. TAKE A WHISPERING CLASS.
(I want to write something as I don’t really believe in just reblogging, but can’t think of anything more than OHHHH! TED LEO!)
It would have been easy to post stuff like the Clash or Sex Pistols or the Jam. But no! That’s not what this is about! So instead I start of punk week with Chisel — the first band by Ted Leo and you can feel the Jam influences all over the rough surface.
