My theory: it’s a combined Voight-Kampff and maths test.

A Zabrak.
Due to Star Wars The Old Republic and the excellent storylines (gives me some hope for Dragons Age 3, not much but some), I’ve started to watch all the movies and then the Clone Wars tv-show — which I’ve never seen despite me being one of those people born after 1977.
And while The Phantom Menace isn’t a good movie at least some of the plot isn’t half bad. Interplanetary blockades that have political repercussions? Unlike the Ewoks taking down an army of soldiers in tanks, that’s actually plausible. Attack of the Clones on the other hand, my God, that’s more of a bad computer game than the movie — this means it’s worse than Super Mario Bros. Horrible. I dread watching the third one tonight.
Also, I don’t know. I’m bored with just posting drawings here. I’m in desperate need to reinvent this tumblr. I want words and texts and images and photos and scribbles in the margins and a diagram in the back. There’s no way to do this properly with tumblr, but damnit, I’m going to try.
La Jetée poster.
Wanted to do it in colour so the muted earthiness is due to the black and white nature of the short.
Watched Den Enfaldige Mördaren again. So damn good. (If you haven’t seen it, do so. One of the best Swedish movies ever. )
On Björn’s suggestion we followed up the excellent Lion In Winter with Yor Hunter From the Future. Kind if whiplashed now.
Wood explodes, water catch fire, and I’ve seen the silliest thrown burning stick ever. My brain is dead.
Just saw Prometheus. Liked the first 45 minutes very much, nice atmosphere and shiny things that actually fit into the old movies despite looking more advanced in places. But then… This is a dictionary illustration of to derail — all the meanings of that word.
Nosfera2.
Van Daniken, author of 1968 bestseller Chariot of the Gods, is best known as the first proponent of the so-called ancient astronaut theory, which holds that aliens kick-started civilization on earth. “NASA and the Vatican agree that is almost mathematically impossible that we can be where we are today without there being a little help along the way,” Scott said. “That’s what we’re looking at (in the film), at some of Eric van Daniken’s ideas of how did we humans come about.
If anyone wondered if the Alien prequel would suck or, by sheer luck, be watchable. The luck option is gone, miracle still a possibility but you know what they say about those.
The Vatican… What the fuck?

Concept art for the forthcoming Pinocchio produced by Guillermo del Toro and made by Jim Henson Company. Still think it’s a shame del Toro won’t helm it himself but damn, would lie if I said I wasn’t giddy anyways.
Edit: and the description here just makes me even more giddy.

The Prestige. First time I see it since the cinema. Without much doubt, it must the best Nolan film to date. (The doubt only because I’ve yet to see Following.) It’s a bit hard to fail considering that the book it’s based on is pretty damn good.
Mooomins! They’re going to show it in faked 3D and old-school 2D. I’m an old-school soul so that’s what I watch. I do not like to force my eyes to adapt to an unnatural phenomenon., it gives headache.
“There! Evil PURE AND SIMPLE by way of the Eighth Dimension!”
Love this movie in a way that’s totally unreasonable.
Later tonight I’m going to to take a small break from the comfort of the West Wing and watch this again. Because it is filled with adorable.
