My brother uploaded a bunch of videos of the last San Jose show we played, if anyone’s interested.
Downright… splendid? (I’m trying to not use “amazing” and “fantastic” so much, which makes this text hard to write.)

It's pretty easy. Or you could use this to say something, I don't bite unless asked to.

Corpus Callosum - Riding Home (Originally I thought to upload the song The Siblings Greely but that one’s 12mb and I can’t be arsed to downgrade it just now.)
That I like this a lot would be no surprise. When I listen I get the same feeling as when I listen to The Flash Girls. Only that CorpsCal is seven people with all that brings with the instrumentation to Flash Girls two (plus friends, but that’s details.) The folkishness and crooked humour is there in both, it’s music that makes you smile. A lot.
At times the layers in the songs are a bit crude, but that’s just because it’s not polished to a pulp. There’s an air of being recorded live over it that works in its favour and you can hear the subtle parts if you listen even without headphones. So damn good.
Some day I will see them live.
Corpus Callosum - My House
Corpus Callosum is a seven-piece ensemble that sort of straddles the bay (and at the moment, also two hemispheres - one member is currently in Sweden), works hard, plays a lot of shows, and pretty much tears it up. Band is a word that describes them in a modern context, but in their case you get a sense that it’s also a bit of a reference to more fanciful times. Imagine, if you will, a roving gang of puppeteers, river gamblers, train-hoppers, mad scientists, and a general assortment of oddish characters. Imagine them making you coffee and sitting in your classes and sketching on the napkins at your workplace. I think you will come to the conclusion that this would greatly improve your life. […]
I had planned to post and write about them myself since I’ve hardly listened to much else these last few days. (I could only afford the digital version so far, but I’ll probably order a physical copy later. I’d kill to have it on vinyl. This is not a hyperbole. (Unless you’re the police.))
I’d love to see and hear the songs performed live, but I guess right now the biggest chance of that happening is to somehow coax the educationally kidnapped member — one of my favourite tumblrs, for real, there’s about twenty of them or so now — to do an ukulele show. Which, I take it from the videos, would be wonderful too. Damn the touring/visiting costs!
I listen to Corpus Callosum and so should you. This has been a Public Service Announcement, failure to comply will be punished (somehow).

I guess I have to take responsibility for what I write in this blog, hope I don't make myself look like an ass too often.
