I’m sort of confused that this hasn’t been re-blogged more, because I think of Andrea as one of the most supportive and inspiring people I’ve met here, and I imagine that many, many people share that feeling, and would love the chance to show the same support in return.

I also (super selfishly, yes) really want this project to succeed because I want to see them perform.

Andrea has been so restrained with posting about this— I think her respect for this space and the number of things competing for our attention, and her natural maybe humbleness— are sweet and lovely, but I worry that lots of people who might want to back this kickstarter may not even know until it’s too late (but I do admire her for not passing the hat all day for thirty days)!

(I’m crossing my fingers now, and I’ll use my next available wish?)

I’d love to see Corpus Callosum live but this isn’t about me — not a national after all — you too want to see them. You might not know it, but you do. They are awesome in all the ways one can be.

While I had heard quite a lot of songs by Kate Rusby before this, the first time I encountered this one was during the credits of an episode of The Wonders of The Universe.

Had someone told me ten years ago that I would be crazy about different type of folk music, I would have given them the finger and told them to get stuffed and fuck off. Back then it was lots of guitars and three chord riffs. Still love those, but it’s a bit limiting to only listen to that. There’s room for the pretty and sublime and calmer moments.

Tomorrow I’ll post some Swedish punk rock.

The mind is filled with thoughts that are not good. Thankfully they’re limited to being tumble-weeds so they drift about without getting a proper hold. This is good I guess, but it makes for some really odd restlessness.

And the body. It’s sliced fish. gutted and the soul is thrown out. There’s not much strength in it. These two things, the head and the body, they don’t work together in this and this disconnect is a good thing. It keeps things from happening.

I wish almost everything was different.

It’s all Greek to me.
