One of the things I immediately read after the first page of any site is the about the author. Because I want to know who wrote this, and just a name is stupid and not enough. We’re not our names and sometimes we’re not even the silly little notes we write.
Dreams, passions, what makes us tick ahead, how we see ourselves. We’re not that either but it’s closer. I miss an about section here, the description is too small and useless for this. Do you write about yourself in second person? Or as a list? Or with Polaroid images and handwritten post-its. I want to know if the person who posted this video or audio-file would do their presentation in the form of a pastiche of T.S. Eliot or W.B. Yeats.
Sure, you can know a person by what and how they post, but mostly the personal identifiers are subtle. There needs to be a way in, especially if it’s some form of personal and semi-fucked up way of throwing out texts en masse on the Internet.
So I did an about page in the non-ideal way. It will be re-written several times, that is a promise.
