I’m looking to trade in/sell my Nikon D60 body and buy a Nikon D80 body. For those of you who use Nikon and have tried either of these cameras, could you give me some opinions as to weather or not this small step would be worth it?

Depends on how you use the camera.  The D80 can use the auto-focus on more cheap lenses and has more focus points and dedicated buttons, but at the same time I think the D60 has a better noise-reduction and ISO range, and the rangefinder-mode in aperture mode is a godsend if you focus manually. I’d rather buy a new lens and then save for a D700 than go from a D60 to a D80.
