On This American Life s2e02: act two. I can relate to the man who came from Bulgaria and ended up in Rhode Island. To summarize for those who haven’t seen the episode (you should, you fuck): he moved to USA, got married, moved to the suburbs, had a lawn. He didn’t like the comformity, that you should keep the grass short and water it to make it look perfect and fake. So he cut it a few times, until his wife told him that there are rules and they could be fined. Then he said: now I’m never gonna cut it.
I like him. I don’t know him, but damn, I think I want to. It speaks to the part of me that refuses to do things if people tell me repeatedly.
