Since the documentary evenings more or less have disbanded due to geographical challenges, I sat down earlier today by my lonesome and watched Visions of Light. (Not that this would have affected anything, it violated the arbitrary documentary rules anyways by being about movies. But you guys, you should watch this too.)
A bunch of cinematographers talking about how they and others shoot movies past and present. How could I not love it? Of course it was a bit too short and focused almost entirely on American films. No mention of Jordan Cronenweth at all which is a damn shame, but Conrad Hall sat in a sofa and looked pretty much like the Dude from the Big Lebowski. Now I need to see those movies I’ve missed that they talked about, there are a few that I really need to see. Next stop: Fat City.
