I love the last category “these aren’t good, but I like them” is a huge chunk of my movies. Hatchet is totally good though.

• I think the list lacks actual classics. Night of the Living Dead, Dawn of the Dead, Carnival of Souls, Freaks. Frankenstein and Bride of Frankenstein. Nosferatu. I love the Black Christmas is on there already but stay away from the remake.
• As a Canadian, I’m throwing in Cube, Hypercube and Cube Zero as well as the entire Gingersnaps series, but at least the first one.
• Needs more Japan! Seriously, if you want fun summery horror movies, look towards Japan. Machine Girl, Tokyo Gore Police, Vampire Girl vs Frankenstein Girl, Versus and Robo-geisha at the very least. If you want older crazy Japanese movies, Hausu.
• If you want more realism Inside, Frontiers, and Them because the French make fucked up films.

Since some of these are not really what I’d call horror, I have to add Dog Soldiers where the horror is not the primary focus. Also others I really really like are Re-animator (the first one), the Fog (1980), A Tale of Two Sisters, Onibaba, Cronos, The Devil’s Backbone, Haute tension, Sauna, Tetsuo (which gave me nightmares), and early Cronenberg such as Shivers, Rabid, Videodrome and the Brood. Definitely the last one.

Note about my tastes: torture porn horror makes me fall asleep, it’s horribly boring. I also consider She’s All That to be horror, but not in a good way.
