Let’s talk books. Or to be more specific: songs about books. This song by the Mekons is my favourite retelling of a book: Hey! Susan is of course the story of Jude the Obscure by Thomas Hardy. A bit condensed, I admit, but it’s hard to go through an entire book under three minutes. Even for someone like Tom Greenhalgh.
