Cowboy Junkies – Wrong Piano
They played this one when I saw them live last year and it was really amazing. It was also a bit different from this version here — Demons is the second volume in their Nomad Series, and one which features only Vic Chesnutt covers — in that it’s more harrowing. The guitars mourn as they go towards The Jesus and Mary Chain influenced origin, all without losing touch on what they’ve evolved into.
In this, they manage to present both sadness and beauty. I can’t think of a better Vic Chesnutt tribute than that.
