Been watching the Sandbaggers and almost done with season one. I’m not entirely sure if this is from sort of syncing with the source or whatnot, but really, it looks damn cool.
Unlike the show itself. It doesn’t look cool at all. Suits, wooden desks, lots of paper changing hands and spies who talk — and they do talk a lot. It is also quite cruel, not a trace of sentimentality and the brief moments of action are quite messy. Dramatically speaking of course, this is a British tv-show from the late 70s. Quite a fantastic show really.
“Good men in ugly suits dying badly in Prague.” — John Rogers, creator of the excellent show Leverage in his introduction to Queen & Country volume 4 describing the Sandbaggers.
Well put Mr. Rogers, well put. If you don’t watch this hsow, and Leverage and read Queen & Country (comic by Greg Rucka). The future of mankind doesn’t really hinge on it, but we can pretend if it makes you do it.
