For some reason I can’t really fathom, my computer suddenly stopped turning of the speakers when I plug in headphones. I don’t use headphones that often though, and I don’t really dare to look into this.
The same time as this happened, it fixed another little “glitch” that was far more annoying. Before I had to open the volume mixer and switch between line-in/microphone. It didn’t acknowledge that line-in should be on by default. So each time I started up the computer I had to go through this if I wanted to listen to vinyl.
Yes, I have the vinyl player connected to the computer. Unless you got a real old school amplifier and stereo (I do wish I had one of those though but I don’t), it’s really the same thing as hooking it up to a newer stereo. And my stereo sucks and my computer speakers rule. So that was a really easy choice. Ok? ok.
Besides, the side flipping and physical aspect of vinyl is just as important as the warmth of the soundwaves. It’s never that casual, but I think I’ve written about that before here.
(Right now, I started side A of Black Mountain’s In the Future.)
