When I read the casting on Alice in Wonderland I should have been extatic, hopeful, other positive things but I’m not. Don’t get me wrong. Wonderful actors, but no, it doesn’t help at all. “Why is the Jabberwock there?” was my first thought. No, that’s a lie, my first thought was “fucking Tim Burton will ruin this too”. Not the most unbiased of opinions I’m sure, but considering the degree of which the latest Burton/Depp-movies have sucked on the Lovelace scale, I think it’s warranted though.
The images of Depp and Bonham-Carter? They don’t help either. It is going to be clear and bright colours, no depth and every point from the story will be hamfisted by Burton’s cooky sentimentality into crap. Oh, and if it hadn’t been for Big Fish — which I love dearly — this movie would have marked one decade of shit from Tim. Yay?

Yea. As an Alice purist, I grow nervous at the thought of combining Alice and Looking-Glass.
