Wow, I haven’t had an allergic reaction like that in a long time. Sorry you had to experience that on your trip. Allergies can be so miserable.
And I still have no real clue what triggered it. Might be a small insect or something. I’ve ruled out all the food — far too long between the allergic shock and...

I take far too much personal. Being stuck and sort of slowly slowly crawling out into the darkness without any sense of direction — metaphorically — does things to you, me I obviously get a bit needy and with far too many self-esteem blows.
I’ve got a cold, but damn, I want to go back out there with the people at the camp-fire. Four days is too fucking short time. Found Rock of Ages on...

The wonderful world of Kim Pine

G’night.
Oh Kim…
Such a good mini-story. Also: I love the colour palette.

Have I missed anything apart from you people in general?

This person, me, is alive. Despite the will of nature. In its face! (More later when I get home in a few, eh, no, nine hours is not a few. But more then!)

themeds replied to your photo: This is the face of disappointment. GPOYW no 2.
Why the disappointment?
The plan was to camp with friends from tomorrow until Sunday. Still the plan but several people said “I’ll come out on Friday instead.” Only we’ll be far less from the beginning to the end. The fuckers.

Popcultural things which popularity I don’t get.
Terry Richardson. Less skill and art than a family slide show.
Law and Order. I know, some of you might be a bit upset about this as there are awesome people here that do like it quite a lot. But procedurals without character focus? I zone out.
John Mayer. Can white noise drip of oversentimentality? Obviously.
The Lord of the Rings movies....

Well I don’t know where completely misrepresenting your statement [“We should try to interview one and another all the time!”] could be a source of confusion for you in the least! Sheesh. Get your head in the game! Otherwise, I was just joshing ya.
But there’s a difference when there’s something recording...
dooeytwo asked: So today I do believe you were the brainchild both of an edited group Tumblr to replace the directory AND a Tumblr Audio Interview series. What kind of Wheaties do you eat every morning? I could use some.

there is something wrong with it anyways
Of course it is, but I do think most of the flaws could be fought with a sort of half-public half-personal algorithm. Fully public and populistic will always favour the flotsam and not the things that are whole. Especially if there might be reblogs or postings of the...

I have given up on the tumblr directory and recommendation. It is plagued by the same problems as the old system with tumblarity: the readership. Had the order been tied to the crush-system with likes and reblogs and stuff, then it would be more individual, it would make it easier — no, change that to “possible” — to find interesting tumblrs. Or fuck it, just randomize the whole...

Ted Leo and the Pharmacists “Bottled In Cork”
The best song on the new Ted Leo album! Video written and directed by Tom Scharpling! Paul F Tompkins! John Hodgman! Julie Klausner! AP Mike! DJ Terre T! My friend Christine!! That guy from Titus Andronicus! Musical theater! Hilarity! Best video of 2010!
If you are very eagle-eyed, you can spot me as well, lurking, there —...

Swedish television showed an hour-long documentary about Tove Jansson earlier today. It was, as one would expect, great and once again it reminded me of that theory that the geometrical shapes we use when we draw has a foundation in how we ourselves are built. Concious or subconscious, the eclipses and circles, the rectangles and the squares — they’re there. I guess the loved ones also...

There’s a rain. It’s almost the only thing keeping my spirits up, most things feel wrong. I know, somewhere in the thick skull, that they’re not. But real and imagined kind of blurs, the line is not exactly clear.
So I sit here, listening to the rain and read comics. I wish I had something else to do. Right now, I swear I’d be the worst participant to play “anywhere...

Laying in bed, hugging the Jayne hat is not really a good way to spend a Saturday. Sure, it’s not all I’ve done. Recorded a very very demoish thing for Nyvinter and draw a bit, but even that feels… Empty?
I’m not good at weekends. Not at all. So make it worthwhile, at least for a brief or a bit longer moment.

The Call Of Ktulu!
No no no! Those illiterate bozos couldn’t even spell it correctly. Which is an awkward way to pay tribute to an author, to say the least.

There is a this box, a box with ten CDs, the complete Hank Williams. At least the complete studio recordings. The question many people ask themselves is of course “Do I want this?” Which is a valid question and “no” might very well be the answer.
However, it’s the wrong question. The real one is “Do I need this?” and to that there is only one answer if...

I am excited about this. I hope it’s more like Obligatory Villagers than Blueberry Pie.
Yeah, I hope so too. Since it’s not a Doris Day tribute, I think it will be more like her normal self.

Singer-songwriter Nellie McKay’s fifth album, Home Sweet Mobile Home, will be released on Verve Records this September. Her second album for the label follows her 2009 album Normal As Blueberry Pie - A Tribute to Doris Day, which was selected by The New York Times, Huffington Post and The Village Voice as one of the best of the year.
Home Sweet Mobile Home is McKay’s first album of...

“Proper British”? *PROPER* British? WELL I NEVER. You can rest assured Mrs. Palin will be hearing about this affront. I imagine her rebuke will use words you won’t find in any fancy pants BRITISH dictionaries. (Nor American ones, for that matter.)
Considering that her language use makes me think of (a) Inigo Montoya:...

Watching the latest Anthony Bourdain’s No Reservations and I’m a bit annoyed. The more I think about it, the more pissed — American pissed, not proper British pissed — I get. There was this fight and everybody spoke Italian which I don’t understand. But there were subtitles so that’s fine. Subtitles rule.
It was fine until the Travel Channel pushed up their huge banner at...

Cursed by an unlucky star, I cut myself in the thumb on a the lid to a plastic container. It’s one of those transparent easily break plastic that borders on paper but is in a more solid form. Know what I’m talking about? Anyway, the cut, it stings just like a paper cut. My thumb demands a sacrifice!
No blood though, praise the $deity!1

Dear Tumblr, I do love you to pieces, but this recent outbreak of errors and no information? You got a twitter account, use it to talk to people and not just a link-page for the staff-tumblr. Information you know, it makes people feel less frustrated and more understanding of the troubles.
Thank you.
Yours sincerely affected by error pages
Nicklas.
