November 2009
The latest Top Gear made me realise I really want a Lancia. Sure, it’s a pile of rust, it falls apart and they’re quite hard to find now (because of the rust). Neil Young said “it’s better to burn out than it is to rust” but I don’t think he was talking about this. What I’m saying is that I want a crappy car. Something with mood swings and personality —...
Julmust, tea, crisps and Top Gear x 2 at Rikard’s place tonight. It will indeed be awesome.

He’s a bit rose-tinted at times, but damn. The photos.

I think I went a bit overboard with the whole backlight creating halo yesterday. But with all the bubbles and music and overdose of cute I just couldn’t help myself. Of this I’m ashamed.
Also, the twitter earlier today turned out to be right: today is a multi-napper. I’ve slept for two hours, I got some whisky and icecream. Saturday win? Probably not, but who’s keeping...

So I saw this new moon movie. It was amazing. Understated, lived in and you could really feel the loneliness. All the daily minutia and being up there without any real contact, no wonder you’d go a bit crazy and imagine stuff. But ultimately it’s very humanistic and hopeful even when all hope seems to have been removed. It also reminds us that 2001 was wrong: humans rebel and not the...

Worst ordeal ever. Went to the kitchen to find something to eat and discovered that I was completely unable to make a sandwich. There was no bread. And I’ll be damned if I’m going to make something more complex at two AM. So I’ll go and see what I can find further inside the cupboards. It might kill me, but hunger demands food or I’ll be even more unable to sleep. Which is...
Mammút tomorrow. Still can’t understand a word of Icelandic (I think) but damn, still excited. Project Live Music Every November Weekend is hereby deemed as a success.

Yes, I’m eating cheese. From the package. With a fork. No, you’re fat!
Even though I don’t know you at all: you’re an awesome person.

We don’t celebrate thanksgiving (holidays with food seems to be the kind we don’t accept and borrow which is inane. Food = goodness.) but whadafuck. I can do a list. Things with the letter M that I’m thankful for:
The Middleman DVD-box.
My friends.
Me not being more fucked up than I am.
Music in any form.
Medication.
[M]whoever invented cookies.

Prepare for a trip to Stockholm. Friends, games, beer, waffles, Tegan & Sara and sadly no Joy Formidable. But still.

New album by the Mekons next year. According to Nobby, they will mix it in January. I shall be giddy and fanboyish until a bit after that then.

My copy of Joanna Vaught’s new zine arrived yesterday and I give it 2 soygan thumbstitutes up. A bunch of excellent-looking Thanksgiving recipes to try, plus some other mind-blowing stuff mixed in (BREAKFAST CRISP: the name alone whispers kiss me kiss me).
I really hope that MagCloud adds Sweden to the shipping countries soon. I love the idea and I really would love this (and a bunch...

What I want for Christmas but probably won't get
Quite a few books.
The Wire Complete Series Box (region one).
Nikon D700.
A new wacom board (my current one is from the bronze age: it uses the serial port).
A Jayne Hat. Because it’s cunning.
Farscape season four + Peacekeeper Wars (region two).
A year’s supply of Yerba Mate and a mate gourd.
Confidence.
Steel-stringed guitar or mandolin.
Employment.
A negative scanner.
...
Need to use the camera tomorrow. No excuse. Need to push ahead, go outside the comfort zone (Yeah, I’ve said this before I think. But it’s hard to do.) and do something I’m happy with. Haven’t been satisfied with the output the last few weeks at all, all photos have been slightly off at best.
