Things my nose is getting used to this last day of the mixed bag (someone stomped on it too) that has been 2008.
Snot, lots of.
Pain, due to tiny cracks inside the nose.
New glasses, comfortable and that don’t fall down.
Limited use, due to 1 and 2.
Goto 1.
Noodles-n-chicken. Blade Runner. Couch. The plan still stands, I’m sad that way. Before that, it’s the new Leverage...

It feels like it’s a sunday. A boring sunday. So very very very dull, my brain has probably turned into cotton… At least it’s a bit fluffy and soft right? Right?
Something that’s been bothering me a little while now.
Could everyone please for fuck sake stop with the “Tim Burton” whenever Nine is mentioned? He’s just the fucking producer (thank God*) and neither the director nor the writer. Do you say “I’m gonna watch that Danny DeVito movie tonight, you know, Pulp Fiction”? Give the credit to the people who...
So I got a “we’re so sorry you have to wait, here’s a gift voucher” in christmas from the place I’ve ordered records. Right now, I’m thinking of:
Elliott Smith - Either/Or
Pixies - Surfer Rosa
Perhaps something else as well. Need more albums to spin on… Shit. I’ve never named it. This is going to take some thought.

i love how my last entry was picked apart by the people that were basically responsible for me deleting my tumblr the last time. the reason being, i avoid drama like the plague.
An ignore function would have been great to keep certain people out from the dashboard. Still possible to find out who and what was reblogged and added, but only with some effort.
Sarah, you just go on...

This is probably because I was so often paralyzed in social interactions, unable to think of anything to say or do. In fact, a good amount of the time I passed alone was spent stocking up on Things To Say.
I was not that smart, but then again I would never have been able to use the notebook without making an even bigger fool out of myself. Sneaking in any way is not in my system....
If I hadn’t drank all the Samuel Adams Honey Porter, I’d drink that now and eat some chocolate cookies while listening to In the Aeroplane Over the Sea. It’s quite cozy though but really… Samuel Adams Honey Porter and chocolate cookies together, just the thought of them cooperating makes me drool. It was terrific. I should have bought more, need to do that on monday.

Random thoughts during the A Muppet Christmas: Letters to Santa.
Dr Bunsen Honeydew looks and speaks remarkedly much like John Hodgman — I think he’s aware of this himself.
Swimsuit models that sound like Beaker, mobsters, crazy Harry blowing shit up, tons of bad puns. It’s like the old show! Almost. It should only have been a bit more irrelevant in places though, especially in the...

“Dear listeners,
Last week, the economic crisis that we’ve been reporting on hit especially close to home. A dozen colleagues from our home radio station, WBEZ Chicago, had to be laid off. It costs the radio station around $150,000 per year just for the internet...
On top of which, there’s never been so much to stay awake for! The internet!...
– Kevin Fanning on the Monster Khaos. The Internet, it’s for real.

So after a while I always withdraw and leave the room. (This is me not figuring out how to start and tries to begin in the middle. It failed. Let’s try that again.)
Christmas. You can tell it’s that week already. Not because of the lights in the streets, the blinged up trees or the decorations in the windows — professional windows or amateur windows, the tramp-lamps are all the same....
Gah. Blurgh. Awoke with one of those headaches. The ones that creeps and feels more like a sponge that makes everything damp instead of pain. The Lovecraft headache. Propbably tentacles in unspeakable places. Like the inner ear or behind the eye poking around in the socket. Urgh! (New glasses now please?)
So I work a bit and listens to Jenny Scheinmans self-titled record, I’m seriously...

yeah, two days into christmas break and I’m already going a little nutso… fantastic.
You’re doing it the right way. It’s better to do it properly and begin early to gradually step up the crazy. And besides, there’s something about this time a year that seems inviting to the insanity. “Come in,” the brain says, and then wraps the insanity in a warm...
Don’t buy whatevers being shoved at you. We got to go back searching...

drinking too much tea day. daydream day.
That’s just silly. Too much tea? There is no such thing, unless one runs out of tea — but that rarely happens. Daydreaming though, yeah.
I’ll segway this into the latest thing I’ve been doing. After all that This American Life I had to listen to David Sedaris reading his Holidays On Ice. This being the season and all,...

WebUrbanist 15 Dazzling Modern Library Designs “The word “library” doesn’t immediately conjure up a sense of coolness[…]”
Normally I like the WebUrbanist but this is just so fucking wrong. Chickenwire and the colour green doesn’t make something “cool”. I’d take a place made to maximize the number of large shelves and the smell of books over any glorified...

going through my shots from the mountain goats and, man, 1600 ISO on the 40D is awesome. it was hardly useable on the 350D. lovely.
High ISO is awsome. Really. At least if the noise more looks like grain than multicoloured noise (if you like me, like a little bit of grain). I’ve gotten really good result with 3200 ISO on my Nikon D60. I haven’t tested it on a gig yet...

re: the coffee
While we sat there, suddenly the room was filled with all these people. Neither of us knew where they came from, the room, previously nearly empty was full. People couldn’t sit, they had to stand by the walls. And then we heard it.
The Christmas songs. Elsewhere in the room three people dressed in Santa outfits sang Christmas songs. One looked deeply ashamed, one played the accordion like a...
